Marie Anson (leader) and 35 other walkers, Steve and Kaye Clarke (leaders) and 6 other riders
We all met at Westerfolds Park for the annual Christmas walk and bike ride. The riders headed towards the city along the Yarra trail while the walkers headed on the same trail but in the opposite direction. The ride was uneventful, and I heard no reports the walk was otherwise. We all met several other club members back at the start for lunch, only to find we had been gazumped at our usual covered eating spot by another group. However being a BUSH walking club, we made do with a single table and BBQ with a lovely grassy area under a magnificent gum tree. By this time the coolish weather had become a beautiful sunny day, and there were even some comments that it was better than the usual spot.. As usual the unplanned division of mains and sweets seemed to work out OK. Also as usual Ching’s famous mango mousse disappeared very rapidly. When it was suggested she should make two or three, she came up with the lame excuse she only had one container. This is a great way to finish the walking program, and get in the mood for the Christmas dinner and breakup the following day.
